In a world where performance is measured in thousandths of a second, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) plays a crucial role in race car development. That’s exactly what professional Matteo Bobbi (former GT world champion and now TV presenter and technical expert for SKY Sport F1 in Italy) set out to explain—by choosing NOPE Engineering and Tatuus Racing as his partners for a special video project.

Together, we created a behind-the-scenes look at how CFD simulations are used to shape the design and aerodynamics of racing cars, from Formula 1 to entry-level single-seaters.

At NOPE Engineering, we opened the doors of our CFD and simulation department to show how virtual models and aerodynamic flows are analyzed and optimized—turning data into on-track performance.
Thanks to Tatuus Racing, we were also able to film inside their race car assembly facility, connecting the dots between digital engineering and real-world construction.

The result? A technical yet approachable video that explains how motorsport aerodynamics and fluid dynamics simulations influence every curve, wing, and duct of a modern race car. All told with clarity, passion, and a touch of good humor.

A special thank you to Matteo for trusting us with this project, to the Tatuus team for their support, and to all the NOPE team members who contributed both on screen and behind the scenes.
